I helped the youngest Baker Boy build a war machine! We built a desk top Trebuchet for a school assignment out of bits and pieces in the shed. Not pretty but it does the job and I had a ton of fun with the boy building it.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

I had a few free hours this afternoon whilst the missus took off with the kids to get her hair done in Gawler, so I took the opportunity to take a walk around the property for the first time in months.
I threw my NEF 17HMR over my shoulder (just in case hahaha) and took off.
I saw a hare darting back and forth in the grass not far from the house but couldn't get a shot away and kicked up a few quail from the long grass.
Soon, I was poking around near some large rocks looking for stone artefacts when I noticed a fox stroll by and then sit down not 20 metres away.
He hadn't noticed me so I pulled a round from my pocket, closed the rifle, cocked the hammer, took an offhand aim at the back of his head and pow! Momentarily it looked like a small explosion had gone off inside his cranium and he just flopped dead on the spot.
When I walked over I could see no bullet entry or exit wounds, and apart from a little blood in one ear, he was pristine.
Feeling quite chuffed with myself, I then went back to the house and baked a fresh loaf of bread and afterwards sat down with a nice glass of Jim Beam Rye.
An awesome afternoon, and as much as I love my kids and wife, it's always nice to get some time off now and again to do the things you enjoy.

I wholeheartedly agree with that statement sir!
I would add Anti-Firearm lobbyists to that list also.

Shot my CED in the leg today!!

Finally got around to making a trip to the range to check out big game loads thru the recently purchased CED w/IR system.

Had finished the checks desired & still wanted to shoot more. Decided to run a long string of cast 115gr RN's thru the .30 carbine Blackhawk, 4.0gr RedDot turns 990fps avg.

Wind came up and started rocking the screens around an inch or two. Didn't seem to bother much, but, sure as hell I hit the back leg with one & cut the IR wire's. Leg is plastic about 1 1/2" wide at that point, didn't cut it thru, just clipped it good enough that now it has a "knee bend" in the middle of it.

IT kept reading each shot even with the wires cut. This was in bright sun around 90F.

IF this had been a wire leg on a Chrony the whole unit would have been destroyed. CED sells replacement parts for such happenings. I'm just going to reconnect the wires & keep using this. When the time come's I'll show it to other's for educational value.

In all it was a great day and I got by lucky & cheap with this "accident".
