I should be moving from WA back to Nth Qld soon, and am hoping someone here will have some experience in the field regarding the guns I own. I obviously wish to get them across as well and would like to know of any political/departmental minefields to dodge in my quest. Aint nuthin deader than overkill

Where abouts in North Qld will you be moving to? I,m in Cairns. AS for bringing rifles in to QLD ,I think its one of the easier places to bring them into. I know when I moved from NT to QLD there were no problems. Dont know what the exact proceedure is not though. Sympathy please ,I have champagne tastes and beer budget

You will have to notify the WA registry, probably before you leave. And the QLD police - see here. QLD recognises interstate licences, so you then have 3 months grace [for Cat A & B; 7 days for C,D,&H] to get your QLD licence, storage approval etc. sorted. Cheers, Doug
