Just saw a news clip. Everyone ok over there?

------------------------------
A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Inland from Geraldine in the South Island.
No reports of casualties. No reports of damage at this stage. By all accounts quite a decent shake.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

Talking to my daughter-in-law who lives at Methven, not that far from the quake epi-centre. She was standing in their lounge on the phone and suddenly had a nauseous feeling as the quake struck, it was more a swaying rolling quake rather the usually jolt and shaking. Didn't realise what it was until she saw the drapes moving and nothing fell off shelves. She said it was also quite noisy like a large truck or jet in the area. Grandkids at their nearby schools all hit the deck under desks etc.
Quite a few reports of people experiencing a queasy feeling from the nature of quakes movement.

Surprisingly for the reasonable size and shallowness of the quake there hasn't been much if any damage reported. Was actually centred up in the Ashburton Lakes area where a lot of the filming was done for the Lord of the Ring's movies. DIL's parents have a bach up there so will be interesting to see if any damage done when they get back up.
