Hi all, this will be my 4th trip to your great country for hunting.  This time will arrive May 23 and depart June 6.  Planning to hunt eastern range for tahr May 24 for 5 or 6 days with hunting friend from Australia.  I'm from the US.  Our heli can accomodate a 3rd hunter. We would like to offer the seat to anyone keen for a tahr hunt.   We plan to go after chamois on west coast after the tahr hunt and at this point have not firmed up a plan.   Open to you sharing a third of the heli cost or taking us out for a chamois or other hunt after the tahr outing.  We are open to suggestions and hope to have a great time.  Take care!  Smiler

Why not hunt both tahr and chamois in the same area, same trip, on the West Coast? Plenty of places to do that.

Note that our Department of Conservation has put up 12 blocks in the National Park and Conservation Reserve in South Westland for ballot to be hunted around last week of April/early May.
We have a block and will be going in at this time for tahr and chamois weather permitting. This is the only time when it is 'legal' to use a chopper for access. Plenty of other areas outside of these though where a chopper can be used.

I just wasn't aware of how this worked and did not have 4 guys to put together a decent camp. Good luck on your outing!
