Hello all, just wondered if anyone has hunted here? My wife and I may be in New Zealand around the end of April and thought we might try and fit in a few days of deer hunting. The owner is Gert Vemeer and I cant really find anything, negative or positive on net searches. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Thank you Highlander, I have been in touch with Gert, I just wondered if any AR members had hunted with them.

I purchased a red stag hunt at auction and hunted with Gert in May 2005. We were in the middle of a three week NZ vacation and stopped by for a three day hunt. Fabulous people, beautiful ranch right on the edge of the tectonic plates in southwest north island. Christine (Gert's wife) entertained my wife while I hunted. I shot a silver medal red stag and would have liked a fallow but his were too young at the time. They took us into their home and treated us like family and I've almost gone back twice but my schedule just didn't work out. Two thumbs up from me. I would probably go in late March-April time frame.

Thanks for the info 1st timer, that's pretty much what everyone has said. We went ahead and booked a stag for my wife and I in April. One more question, how do you pronounce Okau?
