In light of recent events I would like to provide members here with a list of Northern Territory wilderness outfitters who I consider will provide them with a good quality hunt and conditions.

As far as I am aware at this time all of these outfitters are fully licenced in that state (Territory!). Not all offer the full range of different NT hunts - and conditions and prices will vary. All operate inside Arnhem Land where most of the premium hunting is. All are easily researched on the Internet.

It is important to note that international visitors coming to the NT to hunt - must hunt with a licenced outfitter - there are no exceptions, including self-guided hunts, or invitations to hunt on private property. This is also true for Australian hunters taking a commercial safari in the NT - their outfitter must have a corporate licence. Licenced Aussie hunters can of course do their own private hunts!! It is your own responsibility to find out if your outfitter is licenced..

All participants in firearm hunts must have either an Australian Firearms Licence or an International Visitors Permit (IVP), which can only be issued with an outfitter's Corp Firearms Licence number attached. International visitors wishing to hire or borrow from their outfitter must still have this IVP. If you are hunting in other states of Australia this IVP may or may not be valid in those states - for example in South Aust they are valid but in Victoria you need to get one for that state as well (really just duplicate paperwork). All good outfitters will assist in all aspects of this paperwork to make it easier.
