Hello! Gentlemen do I need a B709A Import Licence from the buyer in Victoria to send new, 308 Norma Magnum, unprimed cartridge cases to Australia? Many thanks for your advice in advance! I sent a Brno ZKK safety catch some years back and that did have to have an Australian Import Licence. But I don't know about cartridge cases.

Having reviewed both the form and the guidance for using the form, I cannot see how empty cases qualify. They are not an accessory, and they are not ammunition. They are simply pieces of metal (albeit in a particular configuration).

enfield It's the guy at this ends problem to get the B709A. All you have to do is worry about the export laws in the UK. IF the cases get stopped, he will be sent a letter saying produce a B709A and they will release the goods to him.

I wonder if .308 Norma Mag brass cannot be made from .338 Win Mag brass or 7mm Rem Mag brass. The 30-338 Win Mag cartridge was made to duplicate the Norma Mag in preformance and is .059 shorter than the Norma Mag. Perhaps necking down the .338 or necking up the 7mm and fire forming would be a possible solution to the somewhat hard to get .308 Norma Mag. Seems to be pleanty of .338 and 7mm in Australia from what I read here. Just a thought. Don't ask me what happened, when I left Viet Nam, we were winning.

Ron I have a 7mm mag,a 300wmag and a 358 Norma mag and heaps of cases. All cases can be utilised as such but I do like gen headstamps as with me usually being me in such a hurry haha I`m liable to grab the wrong ammo and that could be disastrous! +1 What he said. For that case it is straight forward to get the the B709A if the recipient has a rifle registered in the appropiate caliber. Regards, Bob.

The B form is all clear and done and the cases are on their way to Oz. Vic C A`s? I have done business with previously as I have an old mate that works there but then it was cheaper with the 50 new cases price from a private individual (enfieldspares) Posts: 87 | Location: Victoria Australia | Registered: 07 September 2002
