My daughter will be attending the weeklong International Congress of Immunology in Melbourne the last week of August. Looks like it is often chilly and rainy there this time of year. Any things that are must-sees or must-dos?

Hunt free ranging sambar.

The city is ok, their little city park is wonderful.

I never really cared for Melbourne or Sydney. Give me Canberra and my fake lake anyday. But I hate large masses of humanity and Melbourne has that.

A simple tour of the internet will tell you a lot more.

Yes, the weather can be a bit wet and windy but in never snows. There are some good galleries and museums and it has an extensive music scene in pubs and night clubs - generally safe enough.
