Went out to the local SSAA range on the weekend for some more practice before the big trip. One thing I have been noticing is there are a lot more women out there now with hubby and/or boyfriend. Also saw a few young girls (about 10-11) shooting with Dad. The range officer even had his wife and very young baby daughter out there. The bub had her own set of pink ear muffs with bling and wasn't phased by the noise at all, in fact I didn't hear a peep from her. All very positive I thought. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

That's ALL good. I've taken several women along on 'shooting dates'. Had one nasty accident with one though. She'd been doing just great with both hers and my K-38. Lots of holes in target center. I was shooting a Blackhawk .45 Colt with some hefty loads, all I had along. She asked to shoot "the big gun". Ok fine. Just as she was about to fire I noticed she was barely holding it in both hands and bent elbows. "Terry hold that sob BOOOOOOMM! Whack! The bridge hit her at the center hairline. Talk about BLOOD! No panic, just slowly turned to lay the gun down with blood spurting down her face like a broken pipe. I grabbed a clean hankie and got her to hold it on there. Ran to the next range and got a lady with a first aid kit. Of course they all thought someone had gotten shot. She insisted on a trip to the ER even after I told her I could butterfly it as well as they could. Cut was clear to her skull. Took five hours and I had to insist the dr sew it up rather than just send her home. Healed up to a barely noticible fine white line up in the hairline. First accident with others and my gun. Shook me up too. Lesson learned: have that first aid kit handy! Make sure that others KNOW to hold onto those things they'll sure bust your chops if not. Just because they're doing well with something less powerful don't assume a damned thing! George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. One of the gunshops here had a very pretty lady working here. I was wanting to buy a safe and sort of assumed she was just there as a relative or maybe someone who wanted a secretatry job but didn't get one. When she started to tell me that she had x model gunsafe and it was perfectly adequate for her 6 rifles, I had to a double take and re-evaluate my whole opinion. Yes, I was just going on appearances ..... -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.

Bren: My 49y/o beautiful redheaded dau is around the Canberra area somewhere. Last I heard she was teaching some classes in a grade school. She's one of those anti's much to my displeasure. Though she's that way, if it would be against my wishes she'd do it just for spite. Many times looks makes sales, ever notice that? lol Wish you well, George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight

Both my daughters know how to shoot and safely use firearms. One will never take it up, but at least I have de-mystified the process so they can tell fact from propaganda.
