So, not to stir the pot, but I guess I didn’t realize what this was when others talked about it. I thought it was helicopters taking hunters and dropping them in typically unaccesible places where they spent a day(s) hunting chamois. Watching it on Sportsman channel and am shocked how brazen they are. Helicopter flying low, chamois running everywhere until they finally pile up behind a rock, the helicopter drops down, clients jump out and start blasting. Guide says a miss, heli drops back down, they jump in and repeat until they kill one, heli drops down, they jump in and they fly them to the corpse. So they spot, chase and bay the game with a helicopter, jump out and shoot, then back in to retrieve. Is this legal? Either way, not a good look.

Is it legal. its operating in a loophole that could be closed but suffers from a lack of action from the relevant Dept due too their anti animal ideology, and close working relationships with most of the helicopter pilots and guides.

Essentially there is a licence offered on public land for helicopters to shoot and recover wild animals for the meat export market. They are using that licence to facilitate trophy hunting with helicopter because the shooter is not required to be licensed, only the pilot. As long as the shooter stays in contact with the machine and is not dropped of for an extended timeframe.
They are not allowed to herd animals too a hunter, or haze an animal to exhaustion. which it sounds like they do from your description. But reporting such things generally gets ignored. Because of the close relationship issue.

Most of the country that is happening in is country NZ or individual visiting hunters are not allowed to fly into. We can hunt there and do, we just have to walk. Its a major fucking insult and frustration and embarrassment too hunting!

Do you have a link where we can view it. Ill see what I can do to cause some embarrassment back.

Lots of times they shoot from the chopper too.
Those people think that they are hunters when in fact they are being laughed at by hunters.
