Not many details in the article. http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/...652e32632df5b19b49b3 ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Hopefully everything turns out well and he heals fast. That's why it's called dangerous game. Roger ___________________________ I'm a trophy hunter - until something better comes along. *we band of 45-70ers*

Quite a few people here and elsewhere are quick to discount the Aussie Buff, but wounded they can be a large handful..... Cheers, Mark.

One particular bloke here that knows all about how tame they are but has yet to visit Australia. The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood. I have recently returned from near on a month away in the Tropics hunting buffalo. On our way out I stopped in to Darwin and visited with the guide at the center of this thread for a couple of days. The good news is that the infections have cleared mostly, the shattered wrist has been plated and screwed and the broken arm splinted and cast. The penetrations to the leg and lower back are causing a little more discomfort but healing nicely. He took his first steps, since the incident, yesterday, and although a long road ahead of rehabilitation begins, the signs are positive.

Yes the Aussie buffalo shouldn't be treated as the kissable old jersey milk cow. Came across this news article recently about an accident our 'guide' on our trip on NT buffs in '78 had recently. back then he already had a healthy respect for these animals and only shot from his vehicle to obtain meat for his business. We were with him for five or so days and apart from stalking some bull trophies always shot some more animals at the end of the day to make up a load of boned out meat for him. Couple of photos below showing the results of one day with a few down ready to bone out. They didn't all fall like shown, we dragged them together after the shooting and then dragged a couple at a time under the tree for some relief from the sun while skinning and boning out. http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/...77a394b3fb915593fd6e Some of these buff were followed by my mate and myself into the scrub and shot at very close range. I believe the guide was Glen, who guides for Simon Kyle-Little in his Arnhem Land area. Just finished a hunt with Simon (great hunt) and we heard some details about this. From what I understand the charge was unprovoked. Glen shielded the client and got a shot off but the buffalo didn't go down. Tossed him around a bit before the client killed it. Broke his arm and blew out his knee from what I remember. I believe he is taking some steps now on crutches. This is all 2nd hand info so it may not be 100%.
