A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

May well be Wendell. I'm in an area that has a few red deer around but this one was quite a bit smaller that a red.

Definitely fallow deer. The profile is distinct even if you account for colour variations in the extreme.

Would you red deer out in the open like that? Here in NZ that would be very unusual unless it is a farm escapee.

Shoot the deer, not the houses.

red deer are the same the world over and they will definitely wander across an open paddock.

That is a fallow deer of course.

The size and coloration/pattern are identical to my Fallow. I can't see any other specie that it might be.

Wrestle it down and send us a picture. Wink

Wendell, when I first saw here she was pretty close to the road. I took out my phone and got it ready (I was hidden from her view behind some bushes)when I stepped out to take the shot she took off before I could focus. Near that dam wall was where she stopped. I'll be more sneaky next time. Big Grin

Muzza, I'm not that good a shot yet with the bow...plus its very light. Might have to get a stronger one myself and put in some practise...I mean just in case a deer turns up down the back of my place!
