They are starting to put themselves in awkward situations again... I have a few more weeks of ignoring them while I chase birds and then we are back into them.

Damn, we're limited to either 3 or 5.
Snow geese are no limit though but, trying to get many is the challenge.

Great shooting if you got a bird per shot. ha!

Thanks for sharing, good to see what's available in other countries.

Yep Paul. Little bro is behind the Camera.

Hand plucked Gryph, except the parries, they get the breasts cut out and made into sausages.
George, the limit here is 10 mallards and greys per hunter a day, and 10 parries each as well.
Im not sure about the others, but I was just over two shots per bird. Though to be fair we don't muck around and if a birds not completely dead, we give it the second barrel to be sure. The pond is close to the river and its blackberry and willow choked and a real bitch to retrieve a wounded bird from.
Actually one of the highlights for me was the work my dog did in there, some first class finds and retrieves and nothing got away from her.

It was the best opening shoot I've had, thanks Shanks!
The time spent with my young fella, seeing him shoot his 1st lot of ducks will stay with me for a long time.
Looking forward to the next one.

Great stuff guys. It is more than 15 years since I shot opening day with mates.
