Who's hunting what and where? What hunts have you got lined up?

Got to admit since moving to Darwin I've been flat out at work (month and a half of night shifts Frowner) and have not been hunting at all. When Gary gets back in the country I'm off down to Katherine to kill some porkers. Other than that its just been fishing of late.

Now question for the Darwinites, What range's are open for some sighting in and when do they operate?

It's raining again in Coogee. All that water flowing into the ocean. Still have that parcel for you. If you need any more flies just let me know.

gday bakes,
had 2 successful trips to brake in the new .308
it took 3 trips to this spot to find one, lots of long dence grass and scrub post wet season, but all the very fresh sign kept bringing me back. first pig was a sow about 90kg was a good stalk as i was down wind and she was feeding happly and unaware of my presence so snuck up to 40 mtrs or so and watched the antics for a couple of minutes. she came broad side and there was my shot. 150g power point passed thru just high of the heart, two steps sideways and she flopped, that instant the boar that was behind the bush next to her came charging out flat out accross me..... and into some thick scrub, never even got to raise the rifle for a second shot.
i was a happy boy as it had been 4 months and about 300 rounds at paper to finaly find a pig to hit. also the satisfaction was compounded by the pig going down to one of my own reloads, that sucess due in no small part to this web site, hard to find fellow reloaders localy so i suppose i am prity much self taught from the info on AR. so thank you all
second pig was at the same place. got there nice and early (early hunter catches the pig) with my brother.
we sat on the ridge waiting for the first light to poke thru talking quietly about nothing in paticular.
he was itching to go but i insist we wait five mins for more light, so off we finaly go and hadnt gone 150 mtrs b4 i saw a sillouette of that boar i missed the trip previously, we had not even loaded our guns and he turned to look at us, i tell you trying to get a round in to a bolt sounds very noisey in that situation. i stop and point out the pig to my bro and set him up he was using his old win 94 in 30 30, the best pig gun, slides in a 150g fn power point again that i had loaded myself and places it on the bridge of his nose, flop didnt even twich, a good boar and nice ivory, but the best thing was to experence it with my brother..... and best mate.
more trips to come.
every one i talk to cant get over the amount of pigs runnin round everyware lately.
bakes if you want to pm me i could organise a trip to the local range, darwin to put thru a couple of rounds. mid week tues wed or thurs i got off

If you want to use the TEPSL range at Darwin river I've got a key so it's open anytime.

Thanks Greg and DM. I'll work out what I'm doing work wise and get back to you.

Rob, I may be down your way next week. My Grandmother just died and I may be coming down for the funeral. I'll let you know.

Other than local small game hunting I am doing next to no trips this year. Saving the bikkies for my elephant hunt later in the year, hopefully more than one, and a quick side trip to Namibia.

Then will probably be broke again.
