lets get something srtaight 40yrs or more of shooting does not make me an expert .

being a boxer you will know the bigger and farster they are the harder they will hit you. The same with large high velocity rifles especialy shooting of a bench. The body has limited movement and the shoulder takes a lot of pounding .There is not much you can do about it .if you love shooting and testing loads like I do .

oF cause you are right mate .However my life style would not allow these ailments to happen what did it was the love of shooting .

I belong to the tinniuts association and I speak to a lot of people in the association but I dont think I have heard of buzzing in the head .But I have been told people hear all sorts of noises .The noise I hear is a high pitched ring and it never stops .

iF you have spent yrs in a ships engine room you did not spend them shooting high powered rifles .The sound waves are a little different as you should know .

You certianly have done a lot in your life where you were exposed to noise .I dont know your age I was about 35-36 when my lovely wife said I was going deaf of course I didnt beleave her .At that stage I had been shooting big guns about 12yrs.A visit to the ear specialist gave me a scare .

I would bet you have lost some of your hearing over the yrs of exposure to loud noise .
YES THERE ARE RISKS IN SHOOTING BIG GUNS
But they are not obvious to everyone especialy new and young shooters .
The new and young are brain washed by gun writers into beleaving they must have a new .300 WSM .
But what they dont say the recoil maybe to much for a lot of people , if shooting especialy of the bench and may cause shoulder or neck problems or both retina detatchment of the eye deafness and tinniuts I love the sport and still shoot I hope you get the picture thank you everybody for your replies CHRIS .
