We've got a day/night in Darwin on our way to hunt buffalo and are looking for a few recommendations on things to see and do and places to stay that won't break the bank.

Darwin airport has a good hotel attached and its close to the centre of Darwin (10 or so minutes by taxi) Some nice restaurants in Darwin. This one is good-http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Restaurant_Review-g255066-d725493-Reviews-Hanuman_Restaurant-Darwin_Top_End_Northern_Territory.html

Or if its on when you are there the Mindle Street markets (the hotel will know and tell you)

Another place to check out is http://www.crocosauruscove.com/

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

There is a crocodile farm close to town. Give yourself a fright when a 5m saltie just appears out of the muddy water!

Have fun.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the Airport Hotel, good value at the height of tourist season and quite nice, especially the chalet accommodation.

Go and have dinner at the Darwin Boat Club. Modestly priced, good service, good food, cold beer and a very pretty setting.

Highly recommended. We passed through Darwin in August last year after a week in the NT and our hosts took us to dinner there. Good way to end the trip before taking on the long haul back to SA.
