G'day Con, Yeah mate depends on the country, while we were up for a week in mid August the lower rubs were on the dry N.E. faces very low down, while rubs high up were on the wetter Southern sides, wallows were everywhere, Between the 3 of us we sighted no less than 10 young stags, but we saw one monster going around the 30" mark, They were quite jumpy and we had no hope of getting a shot off, except the hinds and doe's that couldn't give a shit that we were around, weird!, I'm going up by myself next week for a few days, in this area the rut will be on, so with a bit of luck (alot) I might get a chance to bag one......I have a feeling that you and me hunt around the same area....take it easy...Les

Lads, Now I know some of you hunt Sambar so I was wondering whether you've noticed the stags rubbing later than normal this year and lower down the slopes. My spot took off around mid-August, up until that time there was zero activity on the part of the resident stag. Noticed the rubs are much lower down the slopes too, an observation noted by another hunter that hunts about 20km from where I do. Any comments? Cheers... Con
