Malcolm Turnbull stole the prime ministership he could not have won (Australia)
Herald Sun (Melbourne Australia) ^ | 15th September 2015 | Andrew Bolt

Posted on ‎9‎/‎14‎/‎2015‎ ‎5‎:‎09‎:‎10‎ ‎PM by naturalman1975

MALCOLM Turnbull has replaced Tony Abbott as Prime Minister because the Liberals let his bull weaken their nerve and bury their judgment.

Here’s Turnbull’s challenge in a nutshell: he stole the prime ministership he could not have won in an election.

He stole it by boasting of superior communication skills he does not have.

He will now campaign on successes by Abbott he could not have achieved himself.

And he will now be the leader of a party he cannot unite.

What have the Liberals done? Many of their members will be distraught and disgusted.

Whether Turnbull wins the next election or loses, conservative Liberals will feel they have lost already, now that a man of such “progressive” views has snatched the leadership of their party.

They may as well vote Labor next time, because only if Labor wins could they again have a party for conservatives.

Sure, Turnbull has one big advantage over Abbott.

The media and the Twittersphere have been absolutely feral in savaging Abbott, a man awkward in his own defence, but have been kind to Turnbull.

But the media always favours Labor in any contest, and what the media gives Turnbull today it could withdraw tomorrow.

The Oz media is just as factional & adversarial as the political parties
the story content depends on the masthead.

Tony was a 'botherboy' on the backbench & as a minister, like others before him some cant make the transition to being the trophy stag in the headlights when they get the top job.

Poor man was always awkward in explaining himself on live media.
A nice guy who made a few mistakes of judgement & got on the nose with both the electorate & nervous party members.

'Mal' is charismatic & joins a list of recycled party leaders in our history
Some of whom we now regard as some of our best.
Only time will tell how he performs this time.

Interestingly he lost his party leadership when in opposition over siding with Labour in supporting a stronger climate change policy, & I see labour is now gearing up to criticise his position on global warming ............a policy that they promoted when last in power.WTF

The game never changes............we are sold bullshit & snow jobs............truth & national interest are swept under the carpet , with the expectation that the bulk of us are gullible, have alzheimers, & can only remember last weeks sound bites & visuals.
SNAFU..............pollies believe they have the right to lie, the right to make deals , the right to worry more about re-election in 4 years than national interest, & have their nose in the trough, its that sort of job in justification.

The media outlets simply thrive on this leadership 'turmoil'.

Turnbull will be a great communicator and statesman - that much was lacking in Abbott. Abbott did some good things however and was a true conservative and it remains to be seen if Turnbull fucks us over with his liberal agenda.

Can't say about good or bad, but it certainly is ugly.

Ah, well, Tony was passing legislation by Youtube anyway. (I speak of the Youtube video about the Adler shotgun that got the antis so excited, that its import was banned).

Not that there has been any actual legislation regarding the Adler - in fact several thousand Addlers landed in stores 2 weeks ago, albeit with 5-shot mags.

Pressure continues to prevent negative legislation from occurring.

Sorry, did I get the wrong info, then?

Anyway, the antis are getting their pee in a froth about there being as many guns in private hands now as there were before Port Arthur ... seems like they never stop.

But I'm getting far from the original post.

Abbott just put a hold on the importation till this stinking NFA review is done. Since then they have allowed the importation of the 5-shot version. Which indicates to me that the Fed's aren't (eventually) going to make a big play on levers in this review. But will ask for some prohibitions (by limiting mag capacities for example).

We shall see.
