This time he is accused of molesting Antarctic sea mammals , and pursuing penguins against their wishes . Our intrepid man Steve claims the aquatic creatures like whales and seals were so intrigued with him that they wouldnt leave him alone , it wasnt his fault that he got closer than allowed - they just wouldnt stay away . But hey - its not every day you get a tosser like that in your own back yard so who can blame a seal for taking a peek...

At least he wasnt using his own kid as bait this time....

It wont matter how much they fine him, it'll be cheap considering the amount of publicity this little stunt will generate.

I reckon he gave the authorities the pictures that got him in the shit. He's a master at self promotion.

What the fuck is this, talk about the tall poppy syndrome,I just cant believe you guys!!!

Again a good person is shot in the back by the media & whats worse you people make idiotic judgements without all of the facts!!

It would be impossible to do any type of research or documentary making without getting close,it will be interesting to see the out come of this.

I just cant believe how some people can go off half cocked, without all of the information, well All I can say is I hope you dont shoot like you think.

Steve often states that he does all this stuff for research, where is the research? Where are the published papers? The journals? The books? He does it to sell his product, himself, and if some people think he's a wanker than thats their opinion.

In the NT paper he's quoted as saying that one of the biggest threats to freshwater turtles in the top end was foxes! Now as far as I know (and I've been looking) there are NO foxes in the top end. Yep he sure knows his stuff, must be all that research

There is not doubt, whatsoever, that the man is a total wanker and a tosser - and a fraud. Did any of you guys see the show he did on the Zambezi with a large number of crocodiles feeding on a hippo carcass. And Steve the Wanker was going on about how all the camera crew's lives were in his hands and that they all had to do exactly as he said or their lives would be in danger? I'd bet vital parts of my anatomy that there was an armed PH on site who was really responsible for the safety of the crew.... and not our 'hero'.

And in the same episode Steve, our hero, wanders off into the African bush at night armed with a Dolphin torch and, lo and behold, he finds a big male lion and has a 'close encounter' with this beast - pity the lion is filmed in a huge spotlight and not illuminated by a Dolphin torch. Makes one wonder if that scene was real at all!

And while we are in Africa, with out intrepid hero, there is the time he corners a large cobra in an acacia and then proceeds to torment the snake for an extended time and then remarks, as if it is a surprise, something to the effect "Crikey, this fellas reeeaaally angry!" Of course he was - you would be too if some tosser pestered the daylights out of you (come to think of it, I get reeeaaally angry everytime I see the twit on TV!). You notice that Steve never takes on really dangerous snakes like mambas or taipans. Instead he picks on cobras which are known to be slow striking snakes (which is why snake charmers use them!) and red-bellied blacks and the like.

However, you really have to take your hat off to him for his marketing and he is worth a lot more money than I every will be worth but, a conservationist and naturalist he is not! With him it is not about the animals it is about the dollars.

I watched this wanker a few years ago relocate a FERAL cat as it was too close to some eggs sorry but if he was serious about the austalian enviroment the cat would be dead so this ass released the cat on his show saying something like "we'll put this little bugger out of harms way". F**** sake a cat eats a bird a day so Steve 2nd on the wanker list after little Johny.

I used to like Paul Hogan taking off 'Harry Butler'.
Grabs a black snake and wacks it over a log then holds up the limp body and says to the camera,"These are really beautiful creatures, quite docile really!"

Remind you of Steve the Wanker? He probable fed the starving penguins or tied a sardine round his own neck so they would play with him.

As for those dickheads that condemn STW, how the fucken hell can you back peddle fast enough away from a whale if the thing decides to come your way. Just demonstrates what a fucken ass the law is!

Good post. But you must understand Irwin has himself introduced as a "Professional Hunter" on his programmes so he knows all there is to know and that a dolphin torch is all that is needed to protect people from dangerous game. That and a good editing team of course.

Yes I agree he is a dickhead and a fraud. The expose's on his editing of films have shown that.

But someone there is a master promoter. I notice though while he was wearing his Hard Yakka or King Gees "uniform" on the icy boat deck he didn't wear it in the water.

***

Regarding this latest incident. I wonder how a professional film crew is supposed to get good footage now with the BS oppresive controlling laws we "have to have" nowadays when bureacrats rule our every move.

I started this thread , and now I have to ask whether you might have misspelled your nickname?

Research or documentary making is not what Mr Irwen does , self aggrandisment for his own financial gain is his modus operandi my friend . Did you miss the footage of him holding his newborn child whilst feeding a croc ? Is that the sign of a "normal " person ?

I have no doubt that the guy is knowledgeable about keeping some animals in enclosures , but not just anyone is allowed to visit Antarctica , and there are rules in place to protect both the wildlife and the visitors. One of those rules stipulates the distance to which you can approach animals . Obviously Steve is immune to those rules , being a superbeing as he is .

I have no doubt that the whole scenario has been stage managed to gain free publicity, and that in the minds of children and other unsophisticated folk Stevie will be an even greater hero - unfortunately in my humble opinion he is a bigger twat than ever now.

Quote:

All I can say is I hope you dont shoot like you think.

No , my friend , if I shot a rifle like I think , I would have a lifesize cut out of Stevie set up as a target and would be making regular trips to the rifle range . But I'm not like that , I can feel pity - and in this instance I feel for both of you ....

FC - you will need a longer run up with your rock next time pal...fell short by about eight hundred kilometres

Crikey mate ( to paraphrase our hero ) what constitutes a human in this instance ...?

We can still use those silhoettes(sp) of the approaching enemy soldier , havent stooped to printing photos of our most wanted indigenous people yet ... leave that to the Aussies , they are so much better at political incorrectness

Not quite sure what constitutes a human form, but the army target of approaching enemy form is a no-no.
This is what I'm told and do not know this for a fact.

This is OK though never wanted to shoot at human form targets anyway.

How ridiculous!

Shooting a cardboard cut-out with a human shape being illegal!

How many ridiculous and totally unnecessary laws will we put up with from the urban arse-bandit vegetarian sheeple masses before we do something about it.

Really this is a sheeple thread. What was so wrong with what Urwin (dickhead that he is) was doing????

Nitrox, I have to agree with you, whoever decides these things must be living on sesame street. I was watching who wants to be a millionare and this 21 year old contestant had no idea of the past. I think they must be erasing the past from upcoming generations, thats why they can make it illegal to have a human silhouette as a target. My son doesn't know anything about the past except what I have taught him. What are educators trying to do? If you don't learn from the past history will repeat itself-Tyranny?

Now mate , you know full well that we all rant and rail about things here but are too chicken to stand up in a crowd and say "this is crap " . Its real easy to be anonymous , not all of us can take a stand , or even want to be involved .

Me and my mouth get into lots of difficulties ( here and in real life ) but I admit to not accepting mindless shit from faceless idiots . Sometimes you win , sometimes you lose , but thats life . Until more of us are prepared to stand up nothing will change , 'cept for more nanny-state laws to protect us from ourselves.

Steve Irwin is a plonker , banned from my tv screen , I refuse to pay to see him in the flesh on my annual visit to Queensland , and I fail to see why he is immune from the rules that govern access to the Antartic area , just because he is the great Steve Irwin . I also think his wife is awful , but thats beside the point here ...

What was so wrong with what Stevie Wonderboy was doing ? Nothing at all , except that Antarctic is about the only place on Earth that the wildlife gets to live an unmolested life , and the International Rules governing access and use of the area are there to protect the whole scenario , not to be abused at the whim of some self-styled boy wonder who thinks he is above the law. Sorry , just my personal rant .

I dont see a problem using cut-out targets of human forms , although glueing faces to them may be overstepping the mark a wee bit . We could use a cut-out of Far Canel but it would just about blot out the whole horizon.....

So some of you people shoot up someones character on the basis of media inuendo without any real knowledge of the person involved yet you dont like it at all when someone has a go at yours. Well i,m sure Steve would be offended if he read this, you may even attract some legal attention from him!! Even the media wouldn't defame someone like this.

I come here to the Australian & New Zealand hunting section of this forum to read about hunting & shooting related issues not to read what peoples oppinions are on a particular person ,if I want to read about that I'de sort through all the bullshit in the paper.

Muzza, Steve Irwins missus, a female jerk, is a bambi lover from the states, but I don't blame her for the way steve is. He has attained some notoriety because he is an aussie and he deals with animals, what a laugh, the uniform; censored. These characters are popular, I suppose the next generation don't know any better, because what is new is whats important. Tumbo, you know what you can do.

So why are you responding on this thread - twice!

Steve Urwin is a complete jerk. No amount of legal assistance will overcome that.

But he is good at making low grade entertainment and raking in the cash from overseas markets whom are interested in Australia. Pity they don't get to see the real Australia.

Well , Tumbo , we all come here to see and discuss things relevant to hunting and the outdoors in this part of the world . Sometimes things get a little quiet on the hunting scene so we diverge into off-topic subjects , just like this .

By all means , post some of your hunting escapades for our benefit , enthrall us with photos of your last expedition - thats ultimately what we are all here for . But also feel free to accept that we are all individuals and all have our own opinions and are all free to express them amongst ourselves , thats exactly what this forum and all the others are here for . If you dont like the direction a particular thread is headed - simply dont open that one , move on to something more in tune with your psyche.

Given that you appear to be a lone voice in the Steve Irwin Fan Club , I look forward to some stimulating input from you on a real hunting topic , ie your hunting adventures .

Over to you .

As a joke to Ann from Aspin Hill, I told her she didn't want to see my hunting calender, and I posted some pics of Mr November and December The pics were taken when I was in east Timor in 1999 and I sent them to the wife, she opened them in front of a friend and of course got a bit of a shock

Tumbo,

Stevie (the wonder wank) Irwin is a total tool. We know that here in the US.

We shipped his wife down there because her ass is fat.

No matter how much money Stevie has he is still a tool.

Your posting reminds me of a boil I had on my left ass cheek when I was eight years old. It hurt, but only for a while. That reminds me, your posts are just like the ASS-CLOWN tosser that we have to put up with up here. So, without further ado, I must press the wonderful:
