The january issue of Sports Afield has an interesting article on the similarities between Timothy Treadwell and Steve Irwin. It's factual and very convincing as well.

Who is Timothy Treadwell? I know who the other wanker is.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

I think Treadwell is the person that got himself and his ladyfriend eaten by the bears up in Alaska.

Steve Irwin was a very interesting man And i found him to be an entertaining and colourfull ham .
He didnt get into anywhere near as big a conservationalist Prior to meeting his wife from Oregon (she was a big time anti hunter before she ever met Irwin and he really publicly became that way once he got romanticlly involved with her ) . At least Steve Irwin was interested in animals from the Get go and he was known to shoot Piggies for his traps and take part in some culls .
He loved his wife and his family and was a loyal mate as far as i have read and heard.
Even though he was on the opposite end of many peoples spectrum in his views he did possess many qualities alot of people would admire including myself. For that i have to respect the Man.

Timothy treadwell on the other hand was a drug addict that failed as an actor in LA ran away to Alaska to dry out from the drugs escape everything and discovered by happenstance that he could achieve A kind of fame being a brain damaged flake pandering to the single digit IQ enviromental idealists that gobbled up his BS like prozac.
Because of his selfishness he got one woman killed and two bears destroyed not to mention others that have been habituated

I wouldnt Piss on Treadwell if he was on fire!!

Steve Irwin became anti hunter because thats where the money is. Do you think he could of sold his shows to animal planet and such if he was still a hunter? I don't think so. And if he did become anti hunter because of his wife, that just shows you he had no balls!

Barracuda, Irwin 'might' have been a good bloke, he 'might' have also been what you say he was...

He lost all credibility with me a few years ago when on camera, he released a piglet that had been bailed up by one of his dogs.. saying "...run, piggy, run!..."

Apart from the incredible damage feral pigs do to our native wildlife, our stock, our crops, and our waterways, it's a criminal offence to release a noxious animal either into the wild, or back into the wild.

In NSW, it carries a pretty hefty fine (IIRC, it's something like $20+K)....

He might have been a nice guy, and he might have been pussy whipped, and I'm sorry for his family, but he doesn't have my respect.

Rugeruser et al.

I think he did it with me YEARS ago on one show when he was near a pond with feral cats everywhere and told of the damage they did to native species and yet did not suggest eradication of the cats. Later show saame with feral pigs and he did not suggest hunting control the pigs population. Hope he was a vegetarian at least. I can't handle the hypocrite "antis".

Guess now ya gotta be worried about the Cane Toad.

Irwin was pure and simply about making money.

It is much easier to fleece the greenie masses when they think you are one as well.

And of course his weirdo American wife Terri might have had something to do with it.

Now she is busy pimping her young daughter, Bindi, to keep her wallet stuffed. Disgusting.

I just wish I could wean my kids off Irwin. I'll start by getting rid of Animal Planet...

The whole Irwin circus is damn annoying. I couldn't watch his over the top antics when alive and as mentioned above, Bindi is now being manipulated for the mighty $.

I'd be pretty surprised if she avoided a few major hang ups in the coming years.

Yeah, but she'll have so much $ she'll be able to afford 'therapy' and join the rest of the 'Loony Celebrities'....

Then she'll be able to sell that story and make even more $$$'s
