I am extremely sad to hear that Din & Viv Collings passed away about 6 months ago. Din was a top gunsmith and highly respected. Legends like Joyce Hornady, Roy Weatherby & the South African Musgrave have visited Din's workshop in Wellington in years gone by. Some of them even offered Din a job! Current Australian gunsmiths often called Din to ask for advise and pick his brains for his huge knowledge and expertise. I knew that Din had not been keeping too well. I called one of his sons, Ross, to ask about them and was told that Din passed away & surprising Viv followed in 4 weeks - of heart break he said. They were a wonderful couple & personal friends of mine. Din worked on a few of my rifles. He was always good for a laugh. Both of them did a lot for the NZ target shooting sport and the national team. Viv coached the national women's team. I shall miss you my dear friends. RIP Condolences to the rest of the family - at least 3 sons involved in firearms & shooting. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

Yes, I heard about that. I have a beautiful custom Mauser he worked on. A great shame.
