This should really be in Gunsmithing but as I said on the Canadian page, I hoped that some Kiwi or Aussie shooters might know what Weaver blocks were used on the BSA sporterised P14s, the foresite on mine is getting a bit blurry & I hate hunting with my reading glasses on. ![]() Steve.

Scope mount made for the Remington model 30 shouls suit your rifle Steve. heres a link to a bit of history for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_Model_30 It's mercy, compassion and forgiveness I lack; not rationality.

Thanks for the pointer toward the Rem 30, it may not be as plain as that though. Frank de Haas "Bolt Action Rifles" says the 30 had its rear bridge milled to the same as the receiver ring, but the later 720 used the same rear block as the 700 (a no.36, even though the weaver site shows the 720 as having a no. 11 front & rear like the 30. (De Haas says the 720 should be an 11 front & 36 rear) so I might give this combo a crack seeing as BSA shaped the Monarch & CF2 to be the same as the Rem 700. Confused? Me ! ![]() Steve

Hi Pete, yes, if you have a look here Weaver Bases you will see that under BSA they list the exact same base no. as for Rem 700s so yes, that means the same hole spacing.Another useful links is this one Weaver Base specs If you down load the Weaver charts from the 1st site, you can work pretty much anything out with these two & a bit of measuring.
