I normally buy all my gear off our local gun dealers as he is very competative price wise, and if there is a problem, Greg is great in fixing it. I used to frequent Frank O'Reilly's bach in the very early 70's when I first went to Uni. His ammo was very competative. He used to import stuff like Hubertus and Boar pall shelled shotgun loads that were about a third of the cost of other ammo. And it used to kill well. I bought some many cases of Hubertus when I fluked some money that I every so often still use a couple, and they are great. Except for the leading in the barrol. But anyway, which shops do they now think are the best with deals in Melbourne and after sales problems (which seldom arise now, I guess) I think O'Reilly's aint as good as they were 30 years ago. G'day, Clayton's seem alright, never had any problems dealing with them. Mialls are O.K, can be a bit pricey, but remain the only place as far as I know where you can get all the work done (except major stock work) under the one roof. Dunno too much about the rest. Cheers, Dave. Cheers, Dave. Aut Inveniam Viam aut Faciam.

Frank O'Rielys is still good value on ammo and new guns and if you haggle a bit they will come down but they are not as cheap as they use to be. Clayton Firearms will match O'rieleys but ammo sometimes dearer Whitehorse Arms offer good range of used guns and specialise in English shotguns and double rifles and use good gunsmiths Mials Gunshop offers good inhouse gunsmithing Kudu is the same The rest are ok but not much in stock Steve

I use McDonalds in Footscray. Tim is very competitive on price and as he is a keen shotgunner and deer-hunter knows what he is talking about. Also has good access to gunsmiths. Mark

I have heard about McDonald's but never been there. Will have a look during the next holidays. A couple of our Field and Game members had their stock work done at Mialls (if they are down Frankston way?) and were happy. Thanks for the feed back. Places to visit.
