Been off line for a bit, my house took a direct hit from a bolt of lightning a week and a bit ago (scorched the roof and scared crap out of the boys and I Eeker). Lost the phone lines and tripped out the power points. Phone lines were fixed today. Has eveybody been good?

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Something one can live without, took our hit here in Toowoomba eighteen years ago. Certainly does a job on the powerpoints and phones plus the VCR and a couple of TVs. The really spectacular bit was the lightning going to earth all around us as we were standing around.

Shooting is FUN, winning is MORE fun but shooting IS fun.

We had a bit of a lightning storm here a few weeks ago.
We were watching the display out of the front window when WAMMO! we get a strike about 300 yards away in the paddock across the road.

Of course, the whole place being like a tinderbox after this dry spell, there's an instant bloody bushfire going on over there!

I call the fireys, cops etc.
Flashing lights, locals in utes and lost tourists everywhere. Took about an hour to put out.

A bit of excitement for the evening!

the only thing round at the moment is the bloody cane toads.
found a huge one last nite, the size of a long neck bottle. took 3 massive hits with a bat and still alive!!! the 3rd hit sent it over 40 mtrs thru the air smashed the things leg off at the knee and it hits the ground and just sat up! so i ran it over with the ute.
not exactly humane but...... Wink

We've been getting a few on the RAAF base of late. Just the odd one or two. The population hasn't exploded yet.
