Hi All I am organising a short-notice buffalo cull for a property owner in the Northern Territory (Australia). They have 200 buffalo to cull, both sexes with possibly some big trophy bulls amoungst them. We will be oragnising 8 shooters over two five-day shoots (four per party). Date is yet to be set but it is likely to happen late Feb, early March. One of our guys is flying up to assess the area tomorrow and make sure it is going to work. At present we have six starters already so there are only two places remaining. This will be a great opportunity to shoot a pile of buffalo and maybe a trophy bull or two for much less than the cost of a single trophy hunt. If you are interested in this at all, or any of our culling or trophy hunting programs please email me mattgraham@huntaust.com.au . Better to email me than PM as I am leaving for the USA and Germany on Sunday and my office can only check emails. Cheers all Matt Graham A day spent in the bush is a day added to your life Hunt Australia - Website Hunt Australia - Facebook Hunt Australia - TV

Make sure that you visit the CASTLE OF THE HUNT" while in europe...mind blowing stuff for all hunters..read below Traveler rating: 5 of 5 stars Munich: Museum of Hunting and Fishing (Deutsches Jagd und Fischereimuseum): "Locked horns from Max Cutler" Dec 15, 2003: A TripAdvisor Member, New York, New York I'd spent hours wandering around the old central part of the city of Munich. Like so many other European cities, the central part of the city was the original, fortified area in feudal times that now serves almost entirely as the tourist mall. After a nice beer, I stumbled upon a magnificent sculpture of a wounded wild boar - it s mouth hung open in mortal agony and it s spiny bristle standing on end (It reminded me of the famous Roman sculpture of the fallen Celt). The massive boars back legs lay sideways, obviously crippled by a deadly blow. This bronze mammoth lay several feet away from a building that appeared to be a simple church, but on closer inspection turned out to be the "Deutsches Jagd und Fischereimuseum" (The German Hunting and Fishing Museum). Apparently, this is one of the few instances where the Godess Diana has reclaimed territory from the Mother Mary. The church is now full of woodland beasts and fauna that surround them.Inside I found an amazing preservation of interesting matter, including taxidermed animals (from all over the face of the earth) and the hunting tools employed in their capture and demise. Many beautiful paintings of the various forms and methods of hunting and fishing plaster the regal walls, just below the plaster carved motifs of cherubim that cap the elegant pillars and the edges of baroque arches.Historical artifacts (such as the Kaisers hunting rifles, tools for field butchery, pig spears and crossbows) rest in glass cases, just below row upon row of majestic, mounted stag antlers. There was even a section of the museum that appeared to be devoted to deformed deer antlers and hooves. Including antlers which had grown in such ways that they had fused, or corrugated into crystal-like textures more likely found in kaleidoscopes than in tangible nature. The Museum even presented a  flight of fancy display. In which some deranged taxidermist has artfully sewn a pair of eagles wings to the side of a large blue fox. This  Flying Fox is nipping at the hind of a jackrabbit with antlers, who, in turn, appears to be copulating with a very unhappy and earthly rooster. During my visit this exhibit was enough to make a small child burst into tears and cry uncontrollably for the several minutes. The sobbing echoed up and down the halls and bounced off the glass cases. I wondered, silently, if there would be profound and lasting implications to the child s sense of  the order of things . But the childs parents seemed to view it as an amusing moment and so it must have been worthwhile in some sense. (I must add here that this particular exhibit is presented with the same methodical scientific simplicity as any of the other displays  and is enough to make even an adult question the veracity of any exhibit. Which is naturally good for the soul, in a Bunuelian sense.)One of the more interesting aspects of the German Hunting and Fishing Museum is the fact that it had, indeed, once been a church (when the building stopped being used a Church and was turned into a Hunting Museum can only be guessed). The great halls are lined on a central, cross-like axis and the ceilings are likewise, triumphantly vaulted. Among the rampant Darwinistic, naturalism of the museum it is a surprise to find church reliquaries still housed here. I can only assume that the diocese is leasing the space to the museum, as there were flocks of nuns wandering through the forests of antlers and weaponry, tending to such things as a small, precisely placed porcelain image of the Baby Jesus nestled in bed of red velvet. At the end of a hallway, lined with bears and wolves.Long Live the Brothers Grimm in this place for Diana and Mary.Max Cutler Posts: 87 | Location: Victoria Australia | Registered: 07 September 2002

I have visited that museum but don't recognise the description one bit. Maybe this 'journalist fellow' made the description up in the Brauhaus rather than the actual museum ???

It's definately the same hunting museum I visited while in Munich - Jagd-Fischerei Museum. I think Matt will be in Dortmund, almost the other end of the country. Otherwise I'd say it's worth seeing the museum as well. - stu

Maybe, I was there 17 years aqo so senility is probably setting in. I do remember the magnificient bronze boar sculpture however. Have photos of it. However my recollection was its rear end was resting on the ground and it was rising on its for-quarters. Perhaps similar to the boar sculpture in Florenze?

As noted, he is OS on the show circuit right now. The last I heard, it doesnt look like this hunt will go ahead due to the property owner wanting too much money to make the hunt viable. Fergus
