We were out there by 6.30am. Opening was to start at 7.30 here but people as usual started early. Shot our bags (son and I) by 8.30am. Couple of blackies, three teal then woodies (all as fat as). If we had ignored the bag limit, no guess to what we could have got. Talking to different people out shooting. A few only got one or two. a lot got 4 or 5 and a fair few shot the limit. One or two tools shot more than their bag. There is a hut built in the bush here that gets used by a small group of hunting locals. Known as "C......C......." If anyone happens to be a member here I don't know about. A group camp there every night before Opening and get into the grog and mateship stuff. They averaged 5, nearly all woodies. 8 guys, 40 birds, two blackies (?), a couple of teal. I'd guess the average around here about 5 that is a lot better than I expected. I wonder how Sunday will go? How did other areas fair? R

Lake martin had about 2,000 teal on it on Thursday, but on opening this morning, nothing but swans and pelicans. Might try dam jumping tomorrow. Cheers, Dave. Aut Inveniam Viam aut Faciam.

A few guys got a decent bag of mainly blackies around here on the Sunday. I had the wife's birthday party to go to. I see Laurie only seemed to get his picture in "The Age". I admire him, I mean for his persistance. Brack's doesn't seem likely to be the one to ban duck hunting soon from what he was been reported as saying. Hope..... ??
