Saturday my mate Smiffy (thats with two F's)and I went to Shady camp. For those that don't know, shady camp has LOTS of bloody big crocs The croc below is just a small one of about 3ish meters We were in my 4 meter tinny and thought we would go down a small channel on the flood plain. We got to a set of rapids and thought that we could make it through (in about 70cm of water)Smiffy (two F's) was up front directing me in the clear but slightly tannin stained water when he yelled out what I thought was "HOLY F#$* ROCK" I quickly threw the motor into reverse and backed up. Smiffy was a bit white (pussy it was only a rock!) But then he told me what he actually said....which was "HOLY F&%# CROC"!!!! Smiffy said a 5 meter croc was backing out of the reeds and we nearly ran over it. The croc spotted us and just glided down the rapids and away....whew! Needless to say we got the hell out a there! This is the only tarpon landed of about two dozen hits and hook ups. Spat the lures every time. 3 Barra hooked, only this one landed...monster isn't it Sunday we went to the blue holes. This is set of coral holes near the mangroves. As the water drops your stuck in there buts its pretty cool...Malcom Douglas eat your heart out! Smiffy with a cod taken in the small hole behind him. A GT taken on the troll at high tide. On Monday my eldest boy and I went to Bleesers creek on the harbour and managed a few Queenies. Kurt hooked and lost a nice little shark. We were pulled over by a family who told us to watch out as there was a croc in the area. Some of their crab pots had been crunched up. Sharpe eyed Kurt spotted this little fella hiding in the mud. He's only about 1.5 meters long or so. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!" | ||
