Any one live in the Jewell of Desert?

How do you like it?

Seems to be a huge turnover in jobs up there at Pine Gap.

Does it suck that bad?

No - Darwin is OK... but are you thinking of moving to Darwin or the desert?? Pine Gap is in the desert but a long way from Darwin.... two very different places. Almost like 2 different countries in fact!!

Depends what you want to do ad what you are interested in Dogleg?? There are plenty things to see/do around the city OR you can travel out to Kakadu and/or Litchfield Nat Parks and check them out, do some fishing charter, quite a lot of stuff to do!!

With care and good advice... I have a contact in Darwin (ex. fishing outfitter) who might give you some tips if you were to email him. He runs a fishing/shooting store now, so is independent. Not sure if he is an AR member but I could find out??

There are a lot of freshawater options and they are OK but if I were you I would look at saltwater fishing in August.

Having a brain fart or living in Alice?? Big Grin

Personally - I think living in the Australian desert would suck!! far too far away from real game animals and fish for moi!!

Matt,

Well it really just depends on what the job pays, and if we can afford to do a lot there.

A job that doesn't pay anything extra, wouldn't give us a reason to live in anywhere in Australia.
