In the Sydney area, my vote goes to Safari Firearms. As someone already noted, they are not always the cheapest but their service is second-to-none and they are honest.

As an example of their honesty, I was in the shop once when a customer came in to trade in an o/u shotgun. This customer had only bought the gun weeks before but all of his mates had bought dearer and flashier guns (from Safari Firearms). This guy wanted to trade up to "keep up with the Jones". Gary could have just taken his money but he went to great pains to explain to the customer that the gun he had was every bit as effective as his mate's expensive guns and that, while Gary could easily provide him with a flashy gun, he would lose a great deal of money out of the deal. I think that the customer went ahead with the trade-in but at least he knew exactly where he stood. You can't ask for more!

Got to go with Carl Scholtz in Brisbane (07 33682881). The owner doesn't have a big shop but he has fair prices, will spend $10 in phone calls to find you a $5 part. I've probably bought 50 second hand rifles and handguns there over the years and not one has ever been a dud!

Yes, I nearly always get stuffed up or conned at Horsley.
I usually buy from the "specials" at Cleaver, or QGE, Bne.

I phoned Horsley Park Gun Shop about 12 months ago to purchase a Ruger No.1 and Leupold VXII 6-18X40 AO scope.Asked one of their customer driven champion sales people to give me a total package price and was informed if he gives me the seperate prices I could get a pencil and add it up myself,or he would have to go and get a calculator. He knows now where to find his calculator, has to sit down real easy though.Went to Safari Firearms who appreciate new customers and had a Ruger on the way for me.
Peter Van Meurs (Pro-Cal Trading)for those hard to source bits, another good bloke.
