Didn't shoot anything but saw a fox on private land, heard some pigs grunting in the tea tree and saw a nice Hoggie!

This little fella made me jump a little Big Grin

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

One month season in April and you have to have tags. Tags are free and you get one male and one female. If you shoot one you have to tag it and take to a set location to have it checked and recorded.

I really don't know why there is only a one month season.

Silly rules!

So unlike shooting some and brining it being carried in a large shovel with you sitting on top of it! rotflmo

Is it a ballot? Something for me to consider in a few years.

There is for certain areas. But the little buggers are everywhere. One was killed by a car just down from base a few months ago.

Like most hunting, I guess access to private land offers best results?

Good to hear there are plenty of hog deer, Bakes. The one-month season shows, if nothing else, that the Victorian Government still categorizes them as a game animal, not the pests that the dark greenies claim all deer are.

Finding a place to hunt them here can still be a challenge, though, and I understand the species is endangered in its native lands.

Mate we regularly put them up in winter when we are chasing foxes with the hounds. Along the rivers and in the tussock patches.

I guess the hounds would get them going, even if they were not the quarry. I must find one of these magical places some early autumn Smiler
