A beautiful country and very nice people! Nice place to visit once.

You must have driven past a Deer farm and figured that was it. We have several local names to describe such a person, none of which are particularly polite.
Next time you come here, come join me stalking Billy goats on the sides of mountains with a Subsonic .22lr Load and then we'll see what sort of a hunter you are.

Well I am not the sort of hunter who would enjoy going to NZ to hunt "billy goats". I may like to go to British Columbia or Alaska to hunt Mountain Goats some day.

Duffy, you came to NZ and went away disspointed that you could only hunt Red stag, Roosevelt Elk, fallow deer, Sika, Rusa, and Sambur deer, Himalyan Tahr, Chamois and wallabies without limit?
Plus you felt that the hunting would be like that in a Game Park?
Well, if your not interested in hunting those animals then, yeah, your in the wrong place. But hunting in a game park? Thats the bit that confuses me. Did you go outside while you were here?

Personally, if I went to Canada, I might be disspointed that all the animals are native to that country and I couldnt shoot as many as I liked whenever I wanted freely...

Now you a bit miffed that people think your post was a tad, well, silly - but did you not think that anyone in NZ is on the internet?

Made the most of our 'disappointing hunting opportunities' today. Took my 16" Barreled, Military Sighted, Long Branch NO4 with 150gr PSP Belmont factory loads and climbed 500ft up the side of an scrub covered (bloody Manuka) 'game park' and got a Nanny for the pot.

70-80m across from saddle to saddle, blew a 2" hole out its left hand side shoulder. No True hunter would be disappointed with the stuff we get up to most weeks here in New Zealand.

I don't think "cultural" differences have anything to do with it. Most hunters have a common bond in enjoying the outdoors, making a good hunt on game animals, and hopefully a good killing shot at the end no matter where they live or what country visit.

If you just quietly read your initial post again perhaps you might catch on to what has upset some here. Your last sentence just seems to highlight your attitude.

In fact when I read through your post again it just seems to have been a whole silly to say. Don't seem so surprised at the reaction you have got. Just a shame you have left my country with the impression you have. I have never been to yours, my son has, but from what I see, read and hear, it is certainly a place as beautiful as any in the World with some great hunting opportunities irrespective of where the animals originated from.
