I booked a hunt with Edward Clark for buffalo in Australia and Rusa deer in New Caledonia. He said he sold both his concessions so just go with two different owners. Does anyone know if this is all good to go. Just a little peace of mind for my future hunt. Met him in the Vegas show and he seems to be a great guy but now I am not hunting with him.

I wasn't aware that Ed, and his father, had sold their concessions.

Both Ed AND his father are great guys and rock solid to book and hunt with.

You don't mention who the new owners are so I guess "how long is a piece is string ?".

The hunting area will hold the same quality buff. I know it's a bit disappointing when you think you are hunting with one guy and then it doesn't happen but you'll be right. There is still a bloke helping out the new owner that was very involved with Eddie. tu2

Cheers,
Mark.

He told me Aaron Corbett for the Australian hunt. I don't know about the New Caledonia hunt. I want to hunt the Aboriginal land.

everything is the same with Australian outback buffalo safaris except Edward ...camp, concession and bulls. Eddie has a lot on his plate with a unexpected third baby... and having a hard time being away from his family for months at a time has decided to pass the torch..
But the hunt will be the same...
Coral seas was John Clark's deal and his health will not allow him to continue to do what he loves. But he has a very reputable outfit taking over.
good luck on your hunts and i'm sure you'll have a stellar time...

I guess I better wait until the Vegas show and see what is on. I can't figure out why I can't get the email addresses or phone numbers of the new guys. I did hear a whole different story from someone else and I can't get any response from Eddie the last two weeks. I have had bad experiences on previous hunts and want to avoid that again.

Hey, that area and the Conways area next to it produce the biggest of the inland bulls, in my opinion.

The only other story could be Edd dealing with the Tribal council ... but that situation just convinced him to pull the trigger and put family first.. Arron is in Dallas for the Dallas show now i hear...

I had Aaron Corbett call me and said he is taking over the area.He said he will be in Vegas. The New Caledonia hunt is taken over by someone from New Zealand.

If you are looking for a hunt avoid these people. I lost my $2000 deposit and the price went up. They will be in Vegas. Should they be able to be members of SCI? He said the $1000 goes toward the lease. Hence I am looking for a replacement hunt.

your last post indicates you've met the new outfitters. If what you are saying applies to them, unfortunately, when a business sold, not all deals agreed on prior to the sale, with the prior owners, are required to be honored by the new owners. Looks like at best you might cut your loss by dropping the hunt, but if the area and such are as good as they sound, and the price not too much more, might go for it. You didn't mention who this new outfit is. And was this to be a cull type hunt, or a designated Trophy hunt?

Yes they both called me on the phone but will not email me anything. I sent them my contract with the Clark's but no response either. Aaron Corbett the name. Was for two trophy buffalo and two trophy Rusa stags. Just chalk it up to lesson learned and thankful I had to give only $2000 deposit and no other expenses. Working on hunts with Global Sporting Safaris with Adrian Scok. Booking agents give me some protection against what just happened I hope.

FYI: The outfitter in question just arrived a couple of days ago to set-up camp (didn't meet him, was stuck behind the convoy). I hope this got resolved, as it is a fantastic area.

Edward Clark was very good about refunding my deposit. Too bad I couldn't have hunted with them. I am going July 18 to a different area in Australia and Murray Thomas in New Caledonia.

Glad it worked out. Just met the new outfitter, and I think everything's in good hands with an awesome season ahead.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know what happened to John Clark? I hunted with his New Cal.partner 9 years ago and had a great time. Hope he is OK.
