Just a trial post of a link.
If this video is viewable it's one of my boys thinning some goats. Possibly low quality vid as taken with my Samsung phone by me ( amateur videographer )

Good video, they looked like decent sized goats too, what were you using on them? A bipod would be handy on the rifle in that open ranging country.

Hi Steve,
Nice to hear from you. You're right it is nice. An enjoyable, uncomplicated outing.

Eagle,
Thankyou. Dunno if the goats appear bigger in the video but they don't grow so big there, nannies especially. Calls for careful shot placement.
Billies of course are bulkier but not huge.
Still stink the same.
My son was shooting Hornady SST 130 gn. He worked up a very good load with RL17.
A lot of guys would use bipods for that style of shooting. I have used them a bit but never took a great liking to the things. Seem to do well enough without I guess.

Shanks,
Thankyou. I passed on your comment to my son. He was quite pleased.

It is great to see young hunters out shooting!

He looked as if he was having a great time as well.

It is great that you are taking him hunting and tell him he did very well!

Hi, and thanks. I passed on your compliment. Kenny says thanks very much.
We both enjoyed that weekend in late August. It was the first with reasonable weather after a long wer spell. We hoped to have been again around now but the wet weather remains. Hopefully we get the chance before September ends.

TP,
Probably within the area called King Country by the Rugby Union. Around Owhango in any case.
Never tried shots like that offhand. Could try but suspect hits would be low %, for us at least.
Did shoot a couple of pigs offhand on that outing but only 10 yards. Challenged myself by making headshots Big Grin
Cheers

Yep, we've killed quite a few goats out there.
