smlekid, My Federal member has confirmed its NOT Australian Customs but rather Australia Post's decision based on "safety". From what I've gathered Australian Customs is not thrilled with Australia Post's actions at this time. Firearm components were allegedly slowing mail processing as one component found meant all the mail in that shipment needed to be physically checked. Perhaps its best everyone mail their complaints to Australia Post without using a stamp Cheers... Con

Thanks Con Just hope that everyone here will do their little part and write in - every letter will count. Similar legislation was introduced and subsequently overturned in the UK due to a strong reaction and the same could be done here with a liitle effort from everyone.

[QUOTE] NOT Australian Customs but rather Australia Post's decision based on "safety". /QUOTE] I'm just wondering who's "safety" they are actually concerned about. In this era of litigation I reckon this is just an arse covering exercise on the part of Oz post. It's easy to imagine a scenario where they (Oz post) could be in part blamed for a possible firearm related incident after having let something slip in either through accident or negligence and therefore expose themselves to massive compensation claims. The media would have a field day at their expense.
