Hello to all, I went out yesterday to a mates property in N.S.W. for a hunt. He had seen some fresh pig rootings and sighted some deer so the .308 was the go. Very hilly place with a lot of low scrub so it was an "on foot" affair. Gee the 308 sporter starts to weigh like a varminter after a couple of kilometres of up hill and down dale work. Not too long before the sweat starts to flow in the late arvo heat. No pigs but a couple of small eastern grey 'roos dropped at about 170 and 200 yards across gullies. (he has tags to allow taking roos) Dragged one of the 'roos to a large fallen tree about a kilometre away. Tree in a natural bowl about 300 yards across. Tied the 'roo onto the tree about four feet off the ground to see if we can lure some pigs and foxes out. The bowl ridges should present an excellent place from which to drop whatever comes sniffing around for an easy feed. Will be back tomorrow night to glass the area and inspect what is hanging around. I expect the foxes to have had a go at it and pigs to be cleaning up any offal that has fallen. It may just work out. Cheers from a newby Fortysomething. Having the good times now to recall later.

Welcome to the forums FS. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"
