Just got home from a trip to the Hawksbury and discovered this on AHN. Thought I'd post it here if anyone knows Ted or is a fan of his writting. I've spoken to him on the phone but have never met him in person. Nice fella I thought. http://www.australianhunting.n.../topic,130117.0.html

My thoughts go out to him and his family.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

yes he assisted me in a decision to buy an exomag crossbow about 14 years ago, when it was the world's most powerful. Enjoyed reading his big game bow stories so called him directly at the time. What are the details of his illness Bakes? not registered with the site the link is...

Karl this is from his son-

Sorry guys, didn't know exactly where to put this, though I thought some of you might want to know that Dad has had a serious accident. He has fractured his skull quite badly, bleeding from the brain inside and out. He has also broken bones in his back, broken his collarbone, broken one shoulder, and all of his ribs on one side.

Not sure at this early stage if there are any other broken bits.

Doctors say he will be in a coma for at least three days while they treat the brain/head injury.

He fell off a two story roof and landed on a concrete driveway this afternoon. No-one was home at the time, and a passing motorist saw him laying there some time after the fall, as the blood around him was already congealing. We know he was on the roof as he was cleaning the gutter, I think with a blower. Apparantly Brenton said he dislodged some guttering on the way down too.

I won't know anymore for a while, and theres nothing anybody other than the Doctors can do, so we will have to wait and see.

and an update-

Update on Deermasters condition. (Hi Matt, can you put this in the update thread as i could'nt access it. Thanks, Scotty)

Firstly, Myself and my family would like to give a heartfelt thankyou to all our AHN family for all of your kind thoughts and wellwishes.
I visited Dad with Mum this morning and spoke with him for a while and was relieved that he is now stringing a few words together, so that is reassuring that his swelling has reduced since we spoke with him yesterday. I relayed your concerns and thoughts to him, which he seemed to comprehend a bit better that yesterday. Dad is still trying to get out of the bed to go home. The first sentence i managed to here was "I have to find a place to hunt ". This was very positive to me as he was at my home on the day before the accident, saying that he is getting nocked up walking the hills lately, and is gunna hunt the more flat country which is easier on him. So thats what he is talking about. He would say a few words, then a bit of a mumble, followed with "farkin' hell. Dad did remember that Brenton and Ted Jnr visited him yesterday, and knew who Mum was, so thats very positive.
The nurse said that they may bring Dad out of the IC Unit this afternoon but i do not know what ward at this stage. They will then have a look at his other injuries to see if they will operate ect., as they are only concentrating on his head injuries at this time.
Thanks again for all of your concerns, and i'm sure that having so much support around him, Dad will have the energy and encouragement to fight through this.
Thanks
Scotty

He has started calling people on the phone - which means that a whole bunch of nurses are probably being harassed at all hours of the day and night!! rotflmo

Matt has it exactly right rotflmo . Ted will be a holy terror for the poor nurses there. He is on the mend though which is great news, however I imagine his recovery will be very slow given his age and the types of injury. He'll miss the rut and roar here which will drive him nuts...
