Well as posted earlier, I am on my way to Canberra in November. I have to attend a 3 month long school in Washington DC starting in August.

My biggest concerns are buying a car, I know where I am living (not what part of town), but I know they are giving me a 3 bed 2 bath house.

What are some other things to think about?

Are you still in Italy right now? I never did cross paths with you there as many times as I stayed in Italy and I still owe you a beer from a past promise. We used to cross swords about bow hunting and I almost posted to make sure you bring a bow because the bow hunting is fantastic in Australia just to stir the pot!I am 10 days from heading to Australia to the northwest Territory to hunt Water Buffalo. And no I am not taking my bow,, I am taking my 416 rigby! We are gonna spend a little time in Cairns and Gove while over there. I hope you enjoy the move and all goes well. drwes

Nice,

Nope left Italy about 30 months ago.

Life is too long to hold a grudge against someone, forgiveness and Godliness and all of that being the better part of valor.

Thanks, I hope so too!

D99, I met Matt at the Dallas Safari Club, unfortunately I had already booked my Aussie hunt with another outfit, but just to show you what a class guy he is, he gave me loads of info and advice already knowing I was with another outfit. If I had met him sooner I would be with him this summer,,, as he would tease me,, and tell me that I could of gone first class,, with him. His info and advice is spot on and he has a good sense of humor. He always is there for us on info about Australia, it's hunts, travel, recreations etc. Good luck getting your guns in though!

When you get to Canberra go to the national Gallery. Down on the lake front right in front of the gallery you'll find a coffee shop. Go in there and demand a free coffee. Tell the beautiful lady (or big hairy WOG bloke) behind the counter that I sent you Wink

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

That is good of you to say that Wes and unexpected. When I travel O/S to the conventions I am there to represent and promote my country as a destination, equally as much as my own services - so to my mind it is important that you come here and have a great hunt, regardless of who you booked with and regardless if that outfitters attitude is the same as mine. That is why I am always happy to help anyone with travel/import/licence info and such... I'd prefer not to have visitors go home saying negative things about coming to hunt in Australia!!

Cheers
Matt

I think I'll have a lot of fun down there.

We are really looking forward to dry heat, instead of Florida's swampy butt humidity.

I am looking forward to shooting a stack of piggies. Hopefully I can get a rifle permit sorted within 6 months.
