G'day, It's time for me to upgrade my Binos, from Steiners to something a bit better. How good are Kahles? There is a set of 10x42 DF camo ones on e-bay I was thinking of getting, are they any good?

Cheers, Dave.

If I get the Kahles, sure. Steiner 8x30 Rangers, is that what you are after?

Cheers, Dave

kahles are excellent austrian optics ... but in my opinion the best binos are the IORs (http://www.valdada.com, http://www.ior.ru) optically second to none, tough as much as you imagine and much more cheaper than those of its same quality level .... now and then one of these is offered in ebay ...

Just take a look at them ... I own a 10x50 bino and a 4x32 and a 6x42 scopes ... wouldn´t be more satisfied with any of them

Not till May again Easy .Small income and several hunting trips , plus the inevitable new rifle or five means poverty for a while....

Naturally we kiwis look through the small end of the binos - its a big world out there and we want to see as much as we can . You guys , on the other hand , look through the big end - but I guess that may make you look smaller when you look in the mirror...? Big Grin

Kahles are good , so are Leicas and Swarovskis.

I've been using a set of Kahles 10x42s since '02.
I really like them alot and they have held up to some ruff handling, being dropped ect. So far so good!
