Plenty of that happens all over the country - it just doesnt make it onto Youtube. Still no excuse , and there should be some way of pursuing them through the legal system in their own country . ________________________ Old enough to know better

This has hit the news big time here in Norway also. Among others, our Hunters Association has strongly damned such irresponsible and stupid behavior. What will happen next I don´t know. On our biggest internett hunting/shooting/guns-site, lots of members are in rage as well. Arild Iversen.

Apart from shooting the pigeons which was a bad thing to do these guys appear to have had a good time. They were catch and releasing trout so they were not total idiots, they just made one very bad mistake on the birds. I am sure our NZ approach to game is very confusing to visitors like these guys. That is certainly what I have learnt from helihunts. We treat the deer, chamois and tahr on public land like pests and the birds are sacrosanct. I read on youtube the mob is making death threats on these guys, it was a pigeon, jeez stoats eat them all the time, we 1080 the bird all the time, yes the behaviour was not great but I am not joining the lynch mob. A conviction and a fine would be fair they did not shoot the keas at least, or I hope not. Unfortunately for these guys in NZ they face a possible fine of $60,000 USD and a prison term
