Can any of you Aussies explain this photo?....What kind of a snake is it?.....I think that it's pulling a kangaroo out of the river! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." That Vapodog is an Olive Python. Australia's second largest python species. http://www.southernxreptiles.com/OLIVEGALLERY.htm A good snake to keep as they are usually a gentle large snake. This pic has been around a bit. I believe its a Pilbra olive, the larger of the two sub species. This one below is a wild caught one from the Katherine NT area. A smaller one Another eating a wallaby I have some pic on my work computer of a scrubby eating a wallaby. I'll post them tomorrow. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

No, I've only been bitten by my childrens python-Bob. My fault I had the smell of rat on my hands and he tagged me, stung like a bastard and bled a fair bit for a small bite. I have a mate with two scrubbys and when they get bigger he'll need the help of three or so blokes to help him move them around for cleaning. They can get very agro. A large olive/scrubby/carpet will open you up quick smart. Razor sharp teeth. Gary and I came across a BIG olive out pig hunting one day. It was over 4 meters long. The dogs just walked right over it, didn't know it was there. I wanted to pick it up but was afraid it would draw the dogs attention to it. This is an African Rock Python but you get a good example of a large pythons teeth. Our scrubbys are one of the longest snakes in the world but they don't have the bulk of a burm/retic or rock python ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. A bit under. Its a standard cattle fence I think. Here's another view. Story goes someting like this. Snake ate a sheep or impala (?) got caught on the electric fence and died, after it had a bit of a chew on the wire. Any more info on the first photo? Did the snake eat it down by the water or pull it up? Hard to imagine that it could pull it up to it but if it comes down low then it may not be able to get back out. Snakes are interesting but mostly from a distance! _______________________________

YD, No one seems to know much about the first pic. It has been doing the rounds of the snake forums for awhile. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. Gday Guys, Cant pull up the picture if it is the one of the olive python pulling a roo out of a gorge, it was taken by a reservist in the pilbara regiment in Snake gorge (funnily enough) back way from Karratha to Millstream.

Been to Snake Gorge but didn't step on that bugger fortunately . The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
