Hello 366

Sorry I haven't ben in touch or clear about what is going on, I'm still in two minds myself. As far as I know I still own the rifle (I did tell them to sell it, but have heard nothing - I hope they are not "tricking" with me) but just after I did AirNZ announced their "direct" service. It commences in November, which is a long time to wait, so to put it bluntly "I am in a agony of indecision"

If someone up there made me a fair offer that was "clean" I'd probably take it.

I'll email you some more thoughts directly.

Cheers - Foster

Yeah TOP_PREDATOR,
I have booked straight through, but straight through means stopping in Honolulu to re-fuel only. I get off the plane but checked baggage does not.

Cheers,
Mark.

Hello Guys

I have a nice rifle I bought up in Vancouver, got all the permits etc but coundn't find a carrier who didn't go through the US

The trouble is that you can't tranship rifles through the US (and some of its patsy's) unless you go through a full import export thing. Its mad.

Mark I think you are going to have real problems. I don't know first hand, only what I have heard on the net, but I believe about the only way is to go via Europe or Asia if you want to carry a rifle to Canada. I hope someone with more direct knowlege can jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong.

If anyone is coming back via Asia or Europe and will carry my Browning 1885 to NZ I'd love to hear from you !!

Cheers - Foster

Tentman,

Just a thought, have you tried a freight forwarding company to get your rifle back to N.Z.
What's involved in a visitor to Canada buying a firearm for use in Canada?

Cheers,
Mark.
