Stay where you are mate! NSW is crap.....sorry to you New South Welshmen There are fallow around Seaham on some propertys (from what I remember when I lived there) and the SSAA range is also at Seaham. Rabbits/hares/foxes all that sort of stuff. Lots of people competing for the propertys to hunt on but. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Geez that's tough Bakes! Especially given the access that the Game Council has given us (what is it - 150 State Forests?) plus countless private properties I would say just as good if not better than free access in FNQ or NT. We have four species of deer (lots of them), goats, pigs (when conditions are good), plenty small game, the list goes on - maybe you didnt have a good experience - who knows?? The thing letting us down at the moment is the pigs but that is mainly drought related and you guys do have that over us poor southerners but hey... times change. Check out the G Council mate - there is some good hunting nearby!! Hi GG I'd support Matt's comments, NSW is not all that bad. With a bit of effort and reasonable fee you can get a licence to hunt in more than 1 million acres of State Forests throughout NSW for fallow, reds/elk and sambar, plus the standard pigs and goats. Also, I've noticed many "shooters" here in NSW piss and moan about not having access to good properties even though they refuse to make the effort of following up leads, door knocking and generally putting in the effort to secure decent blocks. The deer hunting opportunities now are the best they've ever been in NSW. The Hunter Valley, for example, has probably some of the best free range deer hunting in the country for a fallow and reds. Bakes, as for the fishing licence, yes times have changed and you gotta pay to play in NSW. Having said that, the fishing licence is $25 a year and has been used to buy out commercial fishing in many coastal areas that are now recreational fishing areas only. The government has put in plenty of FADs along the coast, are also building artificial reefs to increase rec fishing opporuntities. Also, the stock of freshwater species, both trout and natives, is at a record high. Personally, i don't mind paying for a licence when i know where the money is being spent. Cheers, ja

Ha, ha - I understand why you would want to stay in the NT Bakes but I can't have someone talking down my homestate... Politicians..... Shooters Party plus lots of independents - situation improving - at least away from Sydney. Public transport - maybe - who cares - who wants to live in the bigsmoke anyhow?? Fishing Licience - it's almost unanimously accepted that the rec lic has helped vastly improve both fresh and saltwater fisheries. Its been HUGE. Who can argue with a lousy $25/year anyhow, if its going to provide you with more opportunities. Species - flathead - you make that sound bad - what about the - bream, snapper, whiting, morwong, jewies, bass, cod, tailor, kingfish, samsom fish, GT, silver trevally, 3 species Marlin, 7 species of Tuna (at least), 4 species mackeral....... the list could go on forever!! PLENTY fish - you just got to have the know how and ability. Overcrowded - Sydney yes, but you dont need to drive far for it not to be overcrowded. Certainly not where I live....
