Australian Noah's Ark Program Combats Cane Toad I think its a shame that you guys have to resort to relocating your animals just to save them. Damn toads... Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Damn big business first Tex. We introduced the toads to take care of a native species of beetle destroying a non native crop, sugar cane. And it turned out they would rather eat other stuff anyway. Anyone looking at a cane beetle could see why. Heavyset, hard shelled beetles, over an inch long, powerful legs with hooks on the end. And I'd say they hang around too high up for the toads to reach consistently anyway. Your signature line pretty much somes this one up. Karl.

The island ark concept is not new and has meant the survival of many species in New Zealand. It is a crying shame that more money wasn't spent earlier to find a solution to the cane toad problem before it got this far gone.
