There are deals around at the moment from the distributors for this rifle. Be able to do one for a bit over $430 AU here.

Just wondering about thoughts on the trigger.

Also, the barrel of one of these break open rifles wouldn't be really conducive to pinpoint accuracy? Particularly such a flat shooting calibre.

There are some great deals on the Weatherby Blue Sporter in Weatherby .257 at the moment but it would seem way too powerful for any game around here. and the muzzle blast would be a bit hard to take. Dear ammo too.

I have an H&R Handi in 17HMR and yes it wasn't the most accurate thing out of the box to be sure.
The weak point is the latching system in these things.
It can be tweaked up easily enough though and with a couple of other simple mods they can be made to shoot very well indeed and represent excellent value for your ~400 bucks.

The triggers are a little heavy but crisp enough.
Again, a little tweaking with a stone will fix it.

They are basic but solid little rifles.
I like 'em.

$750 here in Murtoa. Frieght about $20 anywhere in Aus (roughly)

Includes swivels, rings and bases, allen black cordura 1" sling, cleaning kit and gun bag. Some more useful and money saving than others.
but I like the look of the blued sported and I think I'll get myself one when I put in the order.

Ammo is very dear. 87 Gn loads are $263 per hundre without GST or frieght.

Let me know what you think.

Damn Ross. If you think that ammo is expensive, try getting 376 Steyr...

Could be the go for those 'reach out and touch them' days on pigs and goats.

Cheers, Dave.
