A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Nuttin, actually. I did try to get someone interested in sponsoring an ultra-lite ice axe (in case I find myself in the wrong place when tahr hunting) but no one would wrap it up for me.

I did get lots of wine - an important part of our apre-hunt evenings, I have to admit.

No, nothing - but it is pretty hard to convince my missus to buy me anything related to hunting & fishing!!! Stuff just miraculously appears here every other week!! Smiler Bought myself and the boys two guns in the last 3 weeks - so we are going pretty good.

I got a drill set and a garden shredder and some other garden gear...think that might be a hint?? rotflmo

For once I needed socks and undies and got what I wanted 'cause I was there to select 'em - in big lots to increase the chance of finding two socks the same.

The old nickers wouldn't stay up and the boys nick the socks. Worse still, the socks only come back to be washed once a month and never in pairs.

Well I cashed in a week of my holidays owed to me and bought it a couple of weeks before Xmas and the wife said that's all I'm getting for Xmas (I did get a bottle of 12 year old scotch though)

Couldn't resist a magnificent 1970 Brno ZKK600 with a Douglas Supreme barrel chambered in 6.5-06. Original front sight and barrel band back on the blued barrel. The original pop up peep sight under the rear scope ring and the Brno set trigger. A black Pachmayer recoil pad fitted to the superb dark and nicely figured original woodwork. The whole rig just looks 'African' with the barrel contour nicely complimenting my 404J Oberndorf Mauser.

Waiting for some new 25-06 cases and 6.5 Sierra boat-tails to reload with the dies that came with the rifle. Shot half the packet of Hornady 140gr A-Max's that also came with the rifle. Extremely accurate and low recoil, a pleasure to own and shoot, thanks Santa!!

Will post photo's somewhere when I take some.

ADDED SOME EARLY PHOTOS OF THE NEW BEAST

I bought two old vintage double rifles, a Westley Richards 10-bore and a Cogswell & Harrison.

Broke the bank so suggested they become the gifts.

Two damned nice gifts! Smiler

I dropped into the GS on the way home from a hunt a couple of weeks back and left the 7x57 and 404 to have a couple of touch-ups done. the 404 is to have the receiver ring stipled and they are both to have the top edge of the bolt handle radiused like the pic I showed him of factory mauser.

Breathable waders and boots, three fishing shirts and I got to lend one of my friends my 11-87 so that he could duck hunt. His shotgun was broken.

After 18 months of renewing a box lost in a home move 500 Jeffery dies arrived Xmas eve and today 204 reamers from Pacific T&G for another 18 month project to build a light weight carry 204 Ruger witrh 1/8 twist to launch Berger 55gr .20 cal.Been a marathon - Krieger supplied a 1/8 twist barrel after 6 months wait in wrong profile then advised they won't make 1/8 20 cal barrels? Tru Flite agreed if I sponsored button. Longer story on the BAT action and McMillan edge stock - so I am close to getting excited with this one!
