Just home from a rusa hunt in the Brisbane Valley in Queensland - yeah , they let me back in , and out again ... Big Grin

Heres a couple of pics - I hate having my photo taken so ignore the lack of enthusiasm....

Hunted with Clark Mcghie (clarkmcghie@bigpond.net).

70 kg boar we bagged over dogs.Crappy tusks so pic trophy only.Clark on the left

Stag went a bit over 33" , tentatively scored at 202-203 DS if that matters to you. Nice sweep-back and nice solid beams. I like it anyway.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

yeah - sorry 'bout that gryph -I left my full face veil at home this trip or people might have thought I was you ... Smiler Smiler

Going to Ostraya to hunt is just part of the annual adventure. Differant part of the world , differant surroundings , differant animals , differant deer - just a differant experience.

Probably not dis-similar to the occassional aussie coming to NZ to hunt our species - much like you there too , gryph , eh what old son ???

Thats a nice Rusa Stag with a very nice rack

There's a bad boy bedding down at the back of my cabin thats wearing a rack like a bull ant carrying a muffin this this year.Hoping I can catch him in the open for a pic when the roar gets underway & his testosterone gets him a little careless.
I have the good fortune to see Rusa everytime I'm at my cabin & in hundreds & hundreds of sightings this fella is the baddest boy I have ever seen.
The downside is I would lose my 4th generation family cabin if I took a rifle there......... I'm happy with a pic tho under the circumstances .........animal despatch is only the last 1% or so of the hunting exercise.

He's managed to evade the cull contractors for the last 5 yrs he's been wearing a rack & I took notice of him, so he's no fool.
