In the U.S.of A. the ranch hand is classified as a handgun. In Canada it is not a handgun and does not have to be registered and strictly controlled. It is a "long gun" that is manufactured not so long. (If you take a rifle and cut down the barrel and stock to this size it would be a very dangerous prohibited weapon) In Alberta (canada) you cannot hunt with "a revolver or pistol". When I get my Ranch Hand I have to find out how Alberta views this gun as they do not have a legal definition of what they mean by "pistol". Barrel length 12" overall length 24" I was just wondering how the Ranch Hand is classified in Australia and NZ.

It would be a handgun Barrel is a lot shorter than the definition of a rifle in the Act. The stock would also have trouble meeting the defined specs too...........methinks
