Mate, www.ch4d.com should have the 408 dies listed. For extra forming operations talk to Dave there. Is Bertram taking up 408 brass production??? 408 really needs the utmost in high pressure/quality brass- Bertram's is usually too soft for maximum loads mate in any calibre. He made it for the old orginal low pressures these elephant guns used. Eg 416SW above had his 416/505gibbs wildcat barely beating the smaller 416 wby with bruces brass. Even my 585 brass was maxing out 200fps below what it should have. If as you said he is producing for military he must have had to fix it. Be wary though.... Not many other choices for 505 gibbs. Lathe turned brass can only handle very low pressures. Otherwise there is Horneber who makes regular 505 gibbs in germany- but usually a year long backlog. The real 408 stuff from jensen is the best choice since it has the thickest web and is the highest pressure of all. Same thing you'll really need Jensen's bullets for the real deal. If you email Dave Davison at Ch4d ask him if he has any suggestions on getting the brass. He's quite helpful. We really only need someone over there to buy it from Jensen and export it to here.
