I have accompanied my phsyco hog killer buddy into the fields and have witnessed him spear two hogs with his cold steel boar spear. Quite effective I must say. His is scary sharp and I watched him stick his through the skull of a hog it went into the top of the head and stuck out the throat.

That's one serious piece of hog sticking equipment. It's a little shocking to see how fast it kills when stuck into the vitals. I always thought it would take longer.

so any advise for Australia is not relevant.
I think aluminium tube would make a good light shaft, or even better a pool cleaner handle ribbed and even lighter.
