Actually there was a slim 40'ish blonde in Business/first who was very attentive and quite nice to me. So much so that her supervisor had to inform her twice that there were other passenger's on board.

As far as Air New Zealand as a company goes, I can't comment as I may be too close to the situation soon.

I made it home finally. It took me almost as long to drive through LA as fly to LA from Auckland.
